The National Group of Press Office Journalists (Gruppo Nazionale Giornalisti Uffici Stampa), or GUS Nazionale, is the press office under the National Federation of the Italian Press, FNSI (Federazione Nazionale della Stampa Italiana), a national union of journalists in the country. The objectives of GUS Nazionale include maintaining the collaboration between members, facilitating journalistic work, and providing training. For example, a workshop on new technologies and disinformation for journalists was organized in early 2026. Despite Italy’s withdrawal from China’s signature Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in 2023, FNSI is listed as a member on the website of the China-hosted Belt and Road Journalists Network, a China-led grouping that claims to “[enable] journalists’ organizations to better fulfill their unique role in promoting people-to-people bonds and strengthening the foundation of public support for the Belt and Road Initiative.”
