The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Oʻzbekiston Respublikasi Vazirlar Mahkamasi) is the central executive body of the Uzbek government, established under Chapter 20 of Uzbekistan’s constitution, adopted December 8, 1992. Its composition and powers are set out in a national law on the Cabinet of Ministers, first adopted May 6, 1993 and most recently revised in a version dated October 25, 2024, published on Uzbekistan’s official legal-documents portal. Per the current law, the Cabinet consists of the prime minister, deputy prime ministers, and government ministers, and answers to Uzbekistan’s parliament, the Oliy Majlis, and to the president. It oversees the country’s ministries, state committees, and subordinate agencies, including state broadcaster MTRK Uzbekistan, which was ordered to report directly to the Cabinet under a 2005 Cabinet resolution reorganizing the broadcaster. The Cabinet is seated at the Government House on Independence Square (Mustaqillik Maydoni) in Tashkent.
