Lingua Sinica is an interactive online resource from the China Media Project that maps global media environments and tracks the influence of Chinese state media and institutions worldwide.
The platform examines Chinese-language media across diverse contexts: diaspora and exile publications, the distinct media cultures of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, and the reach and impact of PRC media activities. Through an interactive map, users can explore media entities and activities by country and region. The site also provides in-depth analysis through country profiles, interviews and feature reporting — recognizing that while China can in some contexts be an influential actor, it is not the only or always the decisive factor in determining media and information integrity.

We also hope that Lingua Sinica can become a community resource offering local knowledge and context about media and about PRC engagement. If you or your organization are interested in working with us on this endeavor, please contact us at lingua.sinica[at]chinamediaproject.org.
