Jian Hua Daily
The Jianhua Daily , founded in August 2000, is the official newspaper of the Federation of Khmer Chinese in Cambodia (柬華理事總會). At its 20th anniversary celebration in Phnom Penh in 2020, Acting Federation Chairman Zhuang Mingqiang (莊明強) claimed the paper had “evolved from a monochrome to color publication” and developed digital platforms including a website, app, and social media presence with “over 10,000 subscribers.” The paper claims to serve as the “voice of the Chinese community” in Cambodia while “promoting Cambodian-Chinese friendship and creating fair public opinion.” Based in the Federation’s headquarters building in Phnom Penh’s Chroy Changvar district, the publication says it covers Cambodian political, economic and cultural news as well as ASEAN and international affairs for Chinese readers across Cambodia. The newspaper publishes content primarily in Chinese, but also in the Khmer language.
