The New Generation
The People’s Daily’s new deputy editor-in-chief is the first cadre of the post-1980s generation to assume a deputy ministerial position.

The Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (中國共產黨深圳市委員會) is the leading political organ of the Chinese Communist Party in Shenzhen, a sub-provincial city and special economic zone in the southern Guangdong Province. The Committee exercises authority over governance, economic planning, and ideological work. It was established on January 23, 1979, when Guangdong’s provincial party committee dissolved the former Bao’an County committee and established Shenzhen as a city. The city became one of China’s first special economic zones in the 1980s, and it is now known as China’s “Silicon Valley.”
