China’s Media Toll on Taiwanese Democracy
Official state media warn a popular Taiwanese television host to avoid observing local elections — or risk losing PRC market access.

The Shandong Provincial People’s Government (山東省人民政府) is the chief administrative body of Shandong, a coastal province in eastern China with its capital in Jinan. It oversees the day-to-day governance of the province, including economic planning, public services, urban development and the implementation of national policy at the provincial level. As with all levels of government in China, it operates subordinate to and under the leadership of the Shandong Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (中國共產黨山東省委員會), which sets the political direction and holds ultimate authority over governance in the province. The provincial government appoints the leadership of Shandong Radio and Television (山東廣播電視台), the province’s main state broadcaster, which operates the Shandong International Communication Center (山東國際傳播中心) for external propaganda.
