ACJA and Chinese Embassy Host Rwandan Journalists

From June 21 to 28, 2026, the official All-China Journalists Association (中華全國新聞工作者協會), or ACJA, a Chinese Communist Party-led professional association that serves a key role in implementing press control policies, and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Rwanda hosted an African media delegation in China. The delegation included staff of Rwanda’s Kigali Today Ltd., according to a first-person account by Antoinette Mutoni, published by Kigali Today’s English-language outlet KT Press and republished by the Belt and Road Journalists Network. Mutoni described the trip as “a living testament” to a long-standing partnership between Kigali Today and the Chinese embassy. The ACJA’s “Home of Journalists” program presented the trip as giving reporters from Ethiopia and Rwanda close access to China’s tech industry. The delegation toured technology firms in Shanghai, including Alibaba Group and STAR Vision Space Technology, before continuing to Zhejiang and Sichuan. On June 24, the journalists took part in a China-Africa Media Roundtable. Mutoni wrote that she came away convinced of journalists’ role in reinforcing China-Africa friendship. The account as republished retains a stray line describing the text as a cleaner, more polished version of the author’s original, an apparent leftover editing note.
