Beware the Tigers
As China’s provincial propaganda apparatus reaches into Europe through cultural diplomacy, even storied universities can find themselves unwitting partners in the enterprise.

Betevé (formerly Barcelona Televisió) is Barcelona’s municipal public broadcaster, launched on November 3, 1994 by merging ten district television stations. Its day-to-day management is handled by the Barcelona City Council, which acts as its shareholders’ assembly. The broadcaster produces its own programming, from newscasts to documentaries, debate shows, and entertainment. It broadcasts primarily in Catalan, a policy in place since the channel’s founding.
