China and Indonesia Co-Host 2024 Media Forum

The 2024 China-Indonesia Media Forum took place in Beijing on September 2, 2024, under the theme “Media Responsibilities and Challenges in the New Era.” The forum was co-hosted by the China Public Diplomacy Association (中國公共外交協會), the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, and the Indonesian Chief Editors Forum Association. During the opening ceremony, a vice president of the China Public Diplomacy Association stated that China and Indonesia’s political mutual trust continues to deepen, and bilateral economic cooperation has grown significantly under the Belt and Road Initiative framework. Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun emphasized the crucial role the media plays in diplomacy and expressed hopes for strengthened media exchanges between the two countries. The chairman of the Indonesian Chief Editors Forum Association highlighted the mainstream media’s important role in China-Indonesia cooperation and stressed future commercial collaboration between Chinese enterprises and Indonesian media to enhance brand building and investment promotion.
