CNS Visits Italian Office of Subsidiary European Outlet

On July 19, 2026, a six-member delegation from China News Service (CNS), the official newswire operated directly by the United Front Work Department of the Chinese Communist Party, visited the Italian office of Nouvelles d’Europe, a regional outlet directly under its control through proxy companies. The delegation also met with representatives from the National Group of Press Office Journalists (Gruppo Nazionale Giornalisti Uffici Stampa), a professional association of journalists working in company communications roles, and the Lazio Regional Order of Journalists (Ordine dei Giornalisti del Lazio), a regional professional journalism body. A round-table discussion with representatives from the above organisations, Mario Ciotti and Manuela Biancospino respectively, began with a video introducing a “civilizational dialogue” hosted by Nouvelles d’Europe in December 2025 at the Paris headquarters of UNESCO.
