Led by publisher and editor-in-chief Ji Yuping (季毓萍) and operating from Budapest’s Chinatown, United News Hungary (匈牙利聯合報) was founded in April 1999 as a Chinese-language weekly newspaper distributed within Hungary and neighboring countries. The publication positions itself as providing “fair and objective reporting” – though it maintains close ties to official Chinese media organizations. In 2007, United Daily became one of the first eight overseas media partners of People’s Daily Overseas Edition (人民日報海外版), serving as the only Hungarian partner in this arrangement. The publication also has a partnership with China News Service (中國新聞社), or CNS, which has established overseas cooperation programs with Chinese-language media globally since 2007. CNS is operated by the United Front Work Department of the CCP Central Committee, charged with overseas influence-related work. United Daily  maintains a social media presence on WeChat,

Cameroon National Radio and Television

Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV), established in 1987, is Cameroon’s government-controlled national broadcasting service. The company resulted from the merger of Cameroon Television (CTV) and the national radio service, with broadcasting roots dating back to 1940 when French authorities established Radio Douala. Today, CRTV maintains comprehensive coverage across all ten regions of Cameroon through one national radio channel, ten regional stations, seven local stations, and three television channels, including CRTV News and CRTV Sports & Entertainment. Under General Manager Charles Ndongo since 2016, the broadcaster operates primarily in French with some English programming, reflecting the country’s bilingual status. As a state-controlled broadcaster, CRTV operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Communication, with the President of the Republic appointing both the General Director and Board Chairperson, firmly anchoring the organization within the state apparatus with limited editorial autonomy.

Le Quotidien

Le Quotidien is a major independent Senegalese daily newspaper founded in February 2003 by Madiambal Diagne, a lawyer and former journalist from Wal Fadjri. Published by Avenir Communication SA, the newspaper maintains its independence by deriving approximately 60% of revenue from sales rather than advertising, allowing it to maintain what Diagne describes as editorial content that “tells things as they are.” Operating from Dakar, Le Quotidien has established itself as “among Senegal’s leading newspapers, and probably the most circulated independent newspaper” through its critical reporting on political, economic, social, and cultural issues. The publication gained international attention when Diagne was imprisoned for over two weeks in July 2004 for articles alleging government corruption, though charges were later dropped following domestic and international pressure.

Home in Cyprus

Home in Cyprus (塞島家園) is a Chinese-language media platform and information service operating in Cyprus that presents itself as an independent community resource for Chinese residents and investors, describing itself as “Cyprus’s most professional Chinese media,” “the most active Chinese information hub,” and “the largest and warmest Chinese community.” The platform claims to provide comprehensive information including Cyprus news, tourism services, financial and legal services, property information, and visa processing, positioning itself as a “shared mutual assistance platform” for Chinese people in Cyprus. However, an investigation by Lingua Sinica has determined that Home in Cyprus is linked to the Chinese Embassy in Cyprus and operates under the Chinese and Cypriots Friendship Promotion Association (中塞友好促進會), or CCFPA, which presents itself as a nongovernmental organization fostering business collaboration between China and Cyprus but functions as an embassy front organization. Home in Cyprus operates through the WeChat account “hcyprus” and is managed by Youlu Wuhan Business Co., Ltd. (優路武漢商務有限公司), a commercial services company established in 2013 in Wuhan, Hubei Province, whose business scope includes immigration intermediary services, study abroad consulting, and tourism services. A user agreement for the platform hosted on the CCFPA website indicates stringent registration and security requirements that suggest it may serve dual purposes as both an information service and surveillance tool used by the embassy to monitor the Chinese diaspora in Cyprus, consistent with United Front Work Department strategies for managing overseas Chinese communities.

With nearly 1,500 employees and total assets of 2.5 billion yuan, the group promotes itself as a “market-oriented and corporate transformation” of “mainstream media” — in this context referring specifically to CCP-run media — to enhance competitiveness while maintaining state control. Its core operations include broadcasting, television, new media, and video content production, positioning it as a key instrument for local CCP messaging and cultural influence.
